Windows should never be ignored, as they are fundamental in the design scheme of any room. They provide pattern, allow light, enlarge a space, and once treated, can greatly affect both the aesthetic and mood of an interior. From single treatments to layers, these six window treatments inspire us to appreciate and embrace window coverings, particularly in our own bedrooms.
A hotel-inspired Los Angeles bedroom boasts woven shades and billowy drapes. These window treatments soften the neutral yet elegant space.

Originating in 1950s Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland, the Scandinavian design movement is characterized by simple, modern furnishings and accessories, often using form-pressed wood, steel, and plastic. Rooms tend to be minimalist, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.
Today, you’ll find contemporary and transitional interiors that use Scandinavian elements, as well as complete spaces that pay tribute to the movement. These four bedrooms celebrate the beauty of Scandinavian Design.
A coastal bedroom in London uses more pattern than we typically see in a Scandinavian space. The blue and white scheme is a good fit for a beach house. This room is a fine example of balance, texture, and harmony.
The designer of this Amsterdam bedroom kept things white and minimal. The only visible pattern is the bed’s backdrop, and the hand-written art adds whimsy that this room needs.

The West Coast capital has long been known as a style hub. Whether looking at fashion on the runway or interior design, Los Angeles trends differ from the East Coast, and have their own look, feel, and personality. Let’s take a peek at five stylish bedrooms in Los Angeles.
This LA bedroom takes classic midcentury modern to another level. The bed’s clean lines, textured coverlet, three-dimensional art, and funky pillows create a stylish yet comfortable environment. The pool view isn’t bad either!
This Silver Lake bedroom embodies a chic, colorful design, yet manages to keep things simple. The headboard is understated, but the wall hanging (actually an area rug turned horizontally) makes a statement.
A gorgeous bedroom in the Hollywood Hills takes a risk with black walls but manages to pull it off. Antique furnishings such as a Chinese chest pair well with the linen headboard and matelassé bed covering.

New York City’s Greenwich Village, also called “The Village” by locals, has long been known as a vibrant, funky neighborhood where artists live, work, and play. It’s no surprise that some of the city’s most creative interiors come from apartments and townhouses in the area. If you’ve ever wondered what the inside of a Village home looks like, now’s your chance to take a peek. Let’s get inspired by these five stylish Greenwich Village Bedrooms.
This somewhat industrial guestroom in an 1840s Greek Revival townhouse keeps the décor simple but adds a touch of funk in the accessories. The ceiling fan is especially interesting.
Compact yet complete, this Village bedroom boasts masculine colors. The bed against the window would normally be taboo, but with the layout of the space, it’s probably the only option. The windows hit above the top of the bed, so the design works well.
A Greenwich Village loft celebrates exposed brick. Sheers allow light to filter through tall windows, and built-ins keep the room clutter-free and save space. Notice the tiny bedside lamps.
This cozy guest room uses a small bed and keeps extra throw pillows on hand. A shag area rug, large armoire, and floor-length draperies finish off the space nicely. Since there’s not enough room for bedside tables, a shelf above the bed can hold necessities
